.NEW, brought to you by Google Registry, is available to all registrants but features usage restrictions. All .NEW domains must be used for action generation or online content creation. Some examples of current use cases include Google's docs.new, sheets.new and slides.new domains that automatically open new documents in the chosen program. It is also a secure domain and requires HTTPS in web browsers.

New TLD Backorders at HEXONET

.FR New Backorder TLD

HEXONET recently added .FR to our lineup of backorders! We offer a wide selection of ccTLDs and gTLDs to choose from for all your backordering goals. While placing a backorder with HEXONET is free, to process a backorder, we require a fully refundable deposit no later than 24 hours before the deletion date of a domain. Please ensure your account balance is funded to cover all pending backorders, otherwise, some or all backorder requests will not be processed. Deposits are automatically returned to your account balance for failed backorders.

New Eligibility Criteria Introduced for .EU

Starting on October 16, 2019, an individual with European citizenship and who does not live in the EU can register .EU domain names without a trustee service. Registrants can use the API parameter called X-EU-REGISTRANT-CITIZENSHIP to specify their EU citizenship. The parameter can be used with the AddDomain, ModifyDomain and TransferDomain command.

Valid values are the EU country codes:

X-EU-REGISTRANT-CITIZENSHIP = at | be | bg | cz | cy | de | dk | es | ee | fi | fr | gr | hu | ie | it | lt | lu | lv | mt | nl | pl | pt | ro | se | sk | si | hr.

The new x-flag is also supported via the Control Panel.

Please note that this does not apply to companies. Individuals who are currently residing in the EU are not required to specify their citizenship.

Changes to .DE Domain Name Management

DENIC registry recently introduced some new changes to the .DE TLD. The following new features are enforced immediately:

DENIC registry no longer requires this information for .DE domains. Domain holders can continue to provide this information for all .DE domain names and we will store it in the HEXONET system only.

DENIC registry now allows domain holders to designate a contact to receive general requests or abuse cases for each .DE domain name. The new x-flags are optional and can be used with AddDomain, ModifyDomain and TransferDomain API command. Please note that the x-flags only accept valid URI templates such as mailto links or HTTP / HTTPS URLs.

The following contact information will be used by default unless specified otherwise by the domain holder:

X-DE-GENERAL-REQUEST: https://send-message.ispapi.net/(domain)/owner

X-DE-ABUSE-CONTACT: mailto:[email protected]

Both x-flags are also supported via the Control Panel.

Due to the introduction of the GDPR policy, the DENIC registry no longer requires a local presence in Germany prior to the registration of .DE domain names.

However, the registry may request that a local contact be named in case of a legal dispute or if any problem is reported to the registry. Upon request by the registry, the domain holder must provide a contact person in Germany who is responsible for receiving the service of official or judicial documents.

Therefore, HEXONET’s trustee services continue to serve a purpose and will be offered as an optional service in the future. The trustee service will operate with the following change: we will add the trustee partner’s email address as a secondary email address to the original registrant contact. If a domain should be subject to a complaint, our trustee partner will also be notified and can then provide a valid German postal address.

The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) has added more options under the Registrant type (X-CN-REGISTRANT-ID-TYPE) x-flag for .CN.

.MOE Premium Domains

The .MOE registry has launched premium domains for its TLD on October 10, 2019. There are a total of seven premium tiers. Complete pricing details can now be viewed in your account.

 

Price Decrease for .LOVE Premium Domains
October 29, 2019

 

The .LOVE Registry recently announced an upcoming reduction to their premium name pricing for more than 12,000 of its premium domains.

Here are the key details on what’s changing:

Currency Change for .GG and .JE Domains
October 31, 2019

 

Channel Islands registry is changing the currency of .GG and .JE as well its third-level domain names from GBP to USD. As a result of this currency change, we are updating HEXONET pricing for these domain names effective on October 31, 2019, 00:00 UTC.

This price change will apply to existing domains, new registrations, renewals and transfers from the effective date.

Please note that if you're not using USD as your account currency, we will charge your account based on the daily European Interbank rate.

Price Increase for .BIZ Domains
November 1, 2019

 

Neustar is increasing the price for .BIZ domains effective November 1, 2019. This price increase will apply to existing domains, new registrations, renewals and transfers from the effective date.

Customers that have existing .BIZ registrations should consider renewing prior to this increase.

Donuts Premium Pricing Event
November 5, 2019

 

On November 5, 2019, Donuts will reduce pricing for over 1 million previously unsold premium domain names - its largest premium price reduction event ever! Approximately 250,000 Donuts premium domains will drop in price and more than 840,000 premium domains will be moved to standard pricing. Customers can view the domain inventory by clicking here.

Launch Information

September 5 (17:00 UTC): customers can register premium domains at the current price but renew at the cheaper price point.

November 1 (17:00 UTC) to November 5 (17:00 UTC): during the so-called quiet phase, impacted premium domains will be reserved and unavailable for purchase.

November 5 (17:00 UTC): all impacted domains will be released for registration.

Backorder Price Increase for .AC, .IO and .SH Domains
September 24, 2019

 

ICB has implemented a new drop zone to handle the deletion of .AC, .IO and .SH domain names. As of September 24, 2019, HEXONET fully supports this new Drop Zone for our backorders of the .AC, .IO and .SH TLDs. Due to a new drop zone registration fee put in place by ICB, HEXONET was required to increase the price to $165 USD/domain/year on all three TLDs.

Price Increase for Select Afilias TLDs
January 1, 2020

 

Afilias is increasing the price for the following TLDs effective January 1, 2020. This price increase will apply to existing domains, new registrations, renewals and transfers from the effective date. There is no change to restore fees
