HEXONET Launches Premium DNS!

On October 15, 2018, we officially launched a new DNS service at HEXONET!

Basic DNS is HEXONET's new and improved free DNS solution which replaces the old Internal DNS system. With the new Basic DNS you can:

  • Continue to create zones and records at no cost (FREE) for internal domains, just as you did with the old Internal DNS
  • See simple statistics on your DNS zone

Basic DNS is the new default DNS service for all domains registered through HEXONET. Learn more about the differences between the new Basic DNS and old Internal DNS on our Wiki

HEXONET has also launched the new Premium DNS service that serves as a better, faster and more secure DNS solution than Basic DNS. Premium DNS is an optional product that customers can upgrade to for their existing DNS zones. Built on a highly reliable and globally connected Anycast network, Premium DNS optimizes your DNS resolution to allow for faster page loading of your website, ensuring your website is always responsive, and adding multiple layers of protection against cybersecurity threats such as DDoS attacks. Best of all, Premium DNS is available for as little as $10 USD a year!

New Backorder Pricing Update

On November 12, 2018, pricing for our domain name backordering service (automated registration of domain names as they expire) will be changing. Make sure to take advantage of this service at HEXONET!

A. New Lower Price for Backordering Most Popular Domains like .COM

  • New price is $19.90 USD for a successful single (uncontested) backorder.
  • Acquired backorders going to auction (contested) have a minimum bid of $23.88 USD.
  • As always, placing a backorder is free, however to process a backorder we require a fully refundable deposit no later than 24 hours before the deletion date of the respective domain name. Please ensure your account balance is sufficiently funded to cover all pending backorders otherwise some or all backorder requests will not be processed. Deposits are automatically returned to your account balance for failed backorders.
  • Domains include: .COM, .INFO .NET and .ORG

B. New Higher Prices for Backordering ccTLDs and Standard gTLDs

  • Starting at $29.00 USD for a successful single (uncontested) backorder.

    • DPML now includes a homographic blocking feature, designed to protect current and future DPML subscribers from some of the world's most sophisticated and common phishing techniques. Homograph attacks are a type of phishing technique used by malicious actors. Their objective is to imitate brands and recognizable domain names through the use of IDN (Internationalised Domain Name) registrations.

    An example: say a malicious person wants to send out emails to Google users, to fool them into providing confidential account and credit card information. The source email address from the phisher might read, “info@gοοgle.com”. Note that the two O’s in the email address are actually Cyrillic characters. Hard to spot, unless you’re trained to look for it. Donuts' Homograph Protection Service will automatically enhance brand protection by preventing many of these vulnerable domains from getting into the hands of unscrupulous users.
