.EU Brexit Related Domains Moved To Withdrawn Stats - July 1, 2021
As of July 1st, 2021, EURid moved all Brexit-related domain names to the "WITHDRAWN" status. Unless reinstated, these domains will be revoked and made available for general registration on January 1, 2022.
If you wish to reinstate a domain name into the “REGISTERED” status, you must contact EURid directly via email at [email protected] and follow the reinstatement procedure.
You will be required to submit a request form provided by EURid, which will then be evaluated. If the request is accepted, EURid will activate the domain name with the registration data provided in the request by moving it to a dedicated EURid Brexit holding account. The domain name status will be updated to ‘REGISTERED’. Eurid will then add a one-year term to the registration.
The holder of a reinstated domain name will be invited to log into their ‘My.eu’ account and obtain a transfer authorisation code that can be provided to a registrar of their choice. Registrars can use this transfer authorisation code to transfer the domain name into their portfolio via a regular transfer command.
A reinstated Brexit domain name, which is not transferred to any accredited registrar by 31 December 2021, will be revoked and subsequently made available for general registration on 1 January 2022.
.EU Updates - Extension of Citizenship Criteria to EEA Nationals - August 2, 2021
Starting on 2 August 2021, the citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway are allowed to register .EU domains and its variants in other scripts regardless of their place of residence.
